Workshops Offered:
Plein
Air Workshop
Painting outside from
life is the best way to learn how to compose, simplify and
mix color. This workshop focuses on learning to use a limited
palette to simplify what you see and how to quickly record what the
light is doing to the shapes in the landscape.
Studio
Workshop
The studio workshops
focus on developing larger studio paintings. How
to compose from outdoor painting, drawings and photographs
and mix color on a larger scale. The class will cover
the steps or process of a larger painting as well as the
studio set-up, equipment and supplies, different lighting
options and health concerns from paint and solvents.
Advanced Workshop
This workshop is
for artists who have several years of painting experience
out-of-doors and in the studio. They have an understanding of
value and color and want to take the next step to a professional
level in their painting and study. This workshop will focus on
the different techniques used in a larger painting, ways to compose
and use color schemes. We will also go into depth about the
stages of a studio painting and the thought process of reference
material and stay focused on the whole painting instead of sections
of detail. I talk about planning your career-setting goals and
scheduling your time to meet your goals and deadlines. We will
also cover equipment and lighting, how to present our work, the
different types of frames available, and one-on-one time to discuss
your work and goals for your career.
